Monterrey 1 – 2 Liverpool [Club World Cup] Highlights 2019/20 Mp4
Roberto Firmino struck and injury time winner as Liverpool survived a valiant display from Monterrey to secure their place in the Club World Cup final with a 2-1 win in Doha.
In a blistering start, it was Liverpool who edged their way in front after Mohamed Salah’s neat reverse ball found Naby Keita, who timed his run perfectly to fire beyond Marcelo Barovero. The Mexican side refused to lie down despite the 12th minute setback, with Rogelio Funes Mori’s close range finish rounding off a well-worked set piece routine.
Chances fell for both sides as the half worse on as both Barovero and Alisson produced some fine saves to keep matters level heading into the break.

Liverpool started the second half strongly, but had their goalkeeper to thank for keeping out two Dorlan Pabon strikes early on. Divock Origi then missed a great chance from James Milner’s cut-back, as both sides struggled to find the back of the net despite numerous attempts.
Monterrey continued throwing men forward and bombarding the Reds’ goal, but a dramatic injury time winner from Roberto Firmino broke Mexican hearts to book Liverpool’s spot in the Club World Cup final. Flamengo are next up on Saturday, as South America take on Europe for the ultimate prize.
