Messi arrived at Spanish court today to face the charge of tax fraud that is hanging over him and his father.
This court appearance was particularly inconvenient, as Messi had to fly back from Argentina’s Copa America preparations for it.
Both he and his father Jorge stand accused of using tax havens to avoid paying tax between 2007 and 2009.
Messi has always declared his innocence, saying that he never even read the documents and only ever concerned himself with playing football.
