The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will today decide on a substantive coach for the national male football team, Super Eagles after the exit of erstwhile handler of the team, Sunday Oliseh some months back.
The technical sub-committee of the NFF is set to meet today to weigh the football body’s options at a crucial meeting slated for the secretariat of the football federation.
Greennews.ng gathered that main issue on the agenda for the meeting is the finalization of the engagement of a substantive chief coach for the Super Eagles.
The NFF has however advised Nigerians to accept in good faith whatever the decision of the committee is. Making this plea is the president of the Federation, Amaju Pinnick while speaking with reporters at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos during the final of the 2016 GTBank Masters Cup.
“I want to plead for the understanding of all Nigerians that whoever is eventually picked for the Super Eagles manager’s job will be in the best interest of Nigerian football,” Pinnick said, “we all want the best for Nigeria.”
The new coach will take over from current caretaker coach, Salisu Yusuf, who is also confident of landing the job himself, having recently boasted that he is the most qualified tactician in Nigerian football given that he has worked as assistant to many of the past chief coaches.
Salisu feels that it is either the position or nothing but the NFF will determine his fate today.
