If reports coming from the UK are anything to go by, then not fewer than eight Manchester United players will leave the club to ‘make enough room’ for the return of France’s Juventus striker, Paul Pogba.
Emerging reports said that manager, Jose Mourinho will sell off these players as he tries to land Frenchman.
According to word from Old Trafford, Mourinho wants to work with 22 core men.
Analysts point at the eight expected to be kicked out to include Marcos Rojo, Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger, who are most at risk after poor seasons.
Also, Adnan Januzaj, who was loaned out last season, might stay out permanently while there are doubts over Memphis Depay, Daley Blind and Juan Mata’s futures. Some reports already say that Juan Mata is being offered as part of the Pogba transfer deal.
Twenty-three-year-old Pogba is a world record £100million target as part of the Special One’s red revolution at Old Trafford.
But the squad will also be trimmed with loans and sales.
“Jose has made it clear he wants to work with 22 key players. It means up to eight players heading out,” The Sun UK quoted a United source as saying late on Saturday night.
Mourinho is set to go head-to-head with former club Real Madrid to try to sign Pogba.
United has already done business with the France midfielder’s agent Mino Raiola this summer for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
