In a widely circulated video, residents of Lagos State expressed their frustrations to President Bola Tinubu, who is currently on holiday in the state.

The incident occurred as the president’s convoy passed through Idumota market in Lagos Island.

Contrary to the usual cheers and waves for the president, the video captured a notable lack of enthusiasm. Traders and bystanders, instead of cheering, were heard expressing their grievances in Yoruba, chanting “Ebi npa wa oo,” which translates to “we are hungry.”

Lining both sides of the road, the residents seized the opportunity to voice their concerns about the economic challenges they are facing. The discontent was palpable, as onlookers chose to draw attention to their struggles and hardships rather than traditional cheers as the convoy passed through the bustling market.
