Anthony Joshua continued his relentless pursuit to reclaim the pinnacle of the heavyweight division, showcasing a commanding performance in a decisive five-round victory over Otto Wallin.

Inflicting significant damage, Joshua dominated the bout against Sweden’s Wallin, ultimately prompting Wallin’s corner to withdraw him after enduring five punishing rounds.

While Wallin had previously given Tyson Fury a competitive fight in 2019, he proved unable to withstand Joshua’s prowess. Joshua exhibited solid, technical boxing skills from the opening bell, actively seeking a decisive finish.

Stamping his authority on every round, Joshua delivered a powerful right cross-left hook combination in the fifth round that particularly hurt Wallin. Clearly marked and damaged, Wallin was retired on his stool at the conclusion of the fifth round.

This victory marked a commendable achievement for Joshua, who collaborated with a new trainer, Ben Davison, for this fight. Following his loss to Oleksandr Usyk, Joshua transitioned from Rob McCracken to Robert Garcia and, for this bout, enlisted the expertise of Ben Davison, renowned for his work with Tyson Fury in several fights, including the one against Wallin.

Anthony Joshua says; “I can’t grade my performance. My performance team will judge me and the fans at home will have a lot to say, so I’ll leave it up to them,” Joshua said afterwards.

“Not a throwback fight, just another fight. It was just another day in the office.

“All I want to be is victorious for as long as I can.”
