News- How economic hardship increased number of deaths-NHDSPS

THE Body of Heads of Departments and Nursing Services and Principals of Schools, HDNSPS, in federal health institutions in the country, lamented yesterday, that the prevailing economic hardship in the country has led to increase in the number of deaths recorded daily in the country.The organisation lamented that nurses in the country lack the required tools to do their jobs effectively, but expressed optimism that the Federal Government will assist the nurses in improving their skills in the interest of Nigerians.

Speaking at the 16th National Scientific Conference/AGM of the committee of Heads of Departments of Nursing Services and Principals of Schools of Nursing in Federal Health Institutions, the chairman of the body, Mr Haruna Danladi, attributed the economic hardship to the cause of the different ailments in the country, regretting however, that challenges facing the health sector such as inadequate tools to work had worsened the situation. Pointing out that the Federal Government was making frantic efforts to fix the nation’s economy, Danladi assured that nurses at the federal institutions would be provided the tools to do their jobs effectively.
