Police in North Carolina are investigating a terrible crime scene. Authorities say that they found an infant with a gunshot wound to his chest, and the child’s mother and father shot to death in an apparent murder-suicide.

Deputies said they arrived to a home in the after getting a 911 call from the couple’s frightened 7-year old child.

Police arrived finding the baby boy — just 2 or 3-months-old according to neighbors — shot in the chest and critically injured.

He was rushed to the hospital and underwent emergency surgery. Doctors say that the baby will likely survive and make a full recovery.
