England failed to break down a resolute Slovakia side in their final Group B game at Euro 2016 on Monday and were subsequently consigned to a second-placed finish behind Wales.
Despite defeating Chris Coleman’s men in dramatic fashion Roy Hodgson’s men progress to the knockout stages as runners-up, as Gareth Bale and Co. defeated Russia 3-0 in the other game on Monday evening.
England dominated proceedings in Saint-Etienne but were completely unable to breach Slovakia – who themselves could yet qualify as one of the best third-placed teams – despite the presence of numerous attacking players in the team’s line-up
