In a recent social media post, Nigerian activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) criticized billionaire Obi Cubana for commenting on his ongoing dispute with actress Iyabo Ojo and other content creators.
The conflict began on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, when VDM posted on Instagram that Iyabo Ojo and some content creators were not invited to Davido and Chioma’s wedding ceremony but only to the after-party. Iyabo Ojo refuted this claim by sharing a screenshot of her invitation card on her Instagram page.
This rebuttal did not sit well with Iyabo Ojo’s partner, Paulo Okoye. Paulo harshly criticized VDM, calling him “unfortunate” and implying that those responsible for VDM’s unfortunate life circumstances were deceased.
Taking his discontent further, Paulo posted on his Instagram story, challenging some of his associates, including Davido, Cubana Chief Priest, DJ Obi, Seun Kuti, Tunde Ednut, and Poco Lee, who also associate with VDM, to choose between him and the activist.
In response, VDM fiercely attacked Paulo, calling him “Mumu” (a term meaning foolish person) and threatened to expose him if he continued to discuss the matter between him and Iyabo Ojo.
Amid these heated exchanges, Obi Cubana urged Nigerian blogs to stop publicizing content from youths like VDM who insult their elders, seeking to bring a sense of decorum to the ongoing social media drama.
On his Instagram story, he wrote: “Dear blogs, pls stop giving visibility to youth insulting elders!
You enable them! We can’t continue to enable rubbish!!! Stop, pls!”
VDM wasted no time in replying Obi Cubana as he advised him to sit his a$$ down stresing that he has mind to weigh in on his matter
while no one has ever heard the name of the billionaire on any important issue.
He accused Obi Cubana on using his money to buy people over, sell alchol bitters instead of providing job for unemployed youths.
He concluded that he is from the north and he can’t be buy over with money and Obi Cubana has no influence on him as he doesn’t
feed him.
