Nigerian singer Wizkid recently sparked mixed reactions online after giving his colleague Davido the nickname “Ebuka” on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
The controversy began when Wizkid’s song “Dance” mysteriously disappeared from the Apple Music chart, prompting Davido fans to mock him, claiming the song’s success was due to stream farming.
After “Dance” reappeared at number one, Wizkid tweeted, “lol this one no be ebuka o” (laughs, this one isn’t Ebuka). An X user clarified that “Ebuka” referred to Davido, which Wizkid confirmed by liking the post.
prince_julius_jr: This shows you how relevant #davido is to the industry, no one trends without his name🤷🏽♂️. It might sound funny to your, but in terms of marketing and promotion no one comes closer.. Then wonder why all the companies are going to him instead.. Respect to that guy 🙌🙌🙌.
