Grammy-winning artist Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has captured the admiration of many Nigerians after proudly introducing his younger colleague, Asake, to prominent American stars during a gathering in Los Angeles.
In a video making waves online, Burna Boy, known for his hit “Ye,” is seen enthusiastically presenting Asake, a rising talent signed to YBNL, to comedian Kevin Hart, his wife Eniko, and musician Akon.
In the clip, Burna Boy can be seen urging one of the people in the room to play Asake’s popular song “Active,” which features American artist Travis Scott. As the music plays, those in the room express interest, learning it was Asake himself who performed the track. Burna Boy then takes the opportunity to tell Kevin Hart and others about Asake, making it clear that Asake’s talent has international appeal.
When Kevin Hart referred to Asake as a “younger Nigerian artiste,” Burna Boy quickly corrected him, affirming that Asake is, in fact, a global artist, proudly highlighting the international potential of his fellow Nigerian musician.
