A Nigerian man who was sued by Nathaniel Bassey has refused to apologize, asserting that he merely expressed an opinion which he believes is not a crime.
The man was among internet users who suggested that Mercy Chinwo’s son closely resembled Minister Nathaniel Bassey, leading to a legal action from the gospel singer who urged the police to apprehend those involved.
While some individuals have expressed remorse, this particular man insists that he has done nothing wrong that warrants an apology. He maintains that he only shared an opinion, which he believes reflects the truth as many Nigerians share the same view.
Unlike some of his counterparts who advocated for a DNA test, he clarified that he simply commented on the resemblance of the baby’s face to Nathaniel Bassey. Additionally, he clarified that he was not the one who initially shared the pictures online but, like other online users, he voiced his opinion on the matter.
