One of Africa’s prominent indigenous urban record labels, Chocolate City, has celebrated its 20th anniversary with a new music cypher featuring award-winning rappers.
The impressive lineup includes M.I Abaga, A-Q, Ice Prince, Jesse Jagz, Loose Kaynon, and BlaqBonez.
Founded in 2005 by lawyer Audu Maikori, Chocolate City has been a significant player in the music industry, fostering the growth and development of various artists. Over the years, the label has signed notable talents such as Young John, Ckay, BlaqBonez, and more.
Released on January 8th, the music cypher came as a surprise to fans and rap enthusiasts alike. The collaboration among the six talented rap artists delivered captivating melodies, igniting discussions and excitement among fans.
The cypher not only celebrates Chocolate City’s two decades in the industry but also showcases the label’s continued legacy in Nigerian Hip Hop. The release pays homage to Mohbad, and it follows the label’s previous collaboration in the 2019 Martell Cypher, ‘LAMB,’ featuring Loose Kaynon, A-Q, M.I Abaga, and BlaqBonez.
