Portable, a controversial Nigerian singer, has made a public plea to the Ogun state government to show mercy regarding the seizure of his properties. The trouble started when the state government sealed his ‘Odogwu’ bar in Sango Ota, following an altercation between his proteges and officials from the Ota Zonal Planning office.
Portable’s proteges were arraigned in court for allegedly assaulting the officials, and he was declared wanted for being the mastermind behind the chaos. In response, Portable lamented the closure of his bar and the arrest of his associates.
Recently, the Ogun state government also sealed his uncompleted hotel, sparking more outrage from the singer. In a video posted online, Portable acknowledged the power of the state government and pleaded with Governor Dapo Abiodun to temper justice with mercy. He claimed that state officials were targeting him due to his support for Senator Solomon Adeola, also known as Yayi.
The video generated a lot of reactions from social media users, with some commenting on Portable’s humility in the face of adversity. One user, bp__xxl, joked that Portable was only humble because he knew the government was powerful. Another user, mrlilgaga, encouraged Portable to stay strong and keep moving forward.
