Controversial singer Portable is in hot water after his associates allegedly assaulted government officials from the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA) at his bar, Odogwu, in Iyana Ilogbo, Ogun State. The officials were there to inspect the place and issue a notice of illegal structure.
Portable’s boys, nine of whom have been arraigned in court, are facing five charges, including assault, obstruction, possession of dangerous weapons, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace. The court alleges that Portable and his boys beat up planning officers Abidemi Onabanjo, Ramon Lateef, and Akinpelumi Oyero, and were armed with guns and cutlasses during the clash.
Portable himself is currently on the run, but his associates have been granted a N50 million bail by the court. The case has been adjourned to March 17, 2025. This isn’t Portable’s first run-in with the law; he was arrested and arraigned in 2023 for allegedly manhandling and assaulting police officers.
