Nigerian TikToker Blessing Nwakaego Okoye, also known as Sweet, has been sentenced to three years in prison for defaming actress Eniola Badmus on social media.

A Federal High Court in Lagos State handed down the conviction on Wednesday, April 3, after Blessing pleaded guilty to the charge against her.

The accusation against Eniola Badmus made by the TikToker involved claiming that the actress was involved in pimping and arranging girls for politicians in exchange for payment.

After several confrontations, Blessing confessed that she defamed the movie star because a friend, Fortune Ibe, promised to pay her N200,000 to do so.

In a display of remorse, Justice Oweibo offered Blessing the option to pay a fine of N150,000 instead of serving jail time. This decision was based on the violation of Sections 24(1)(b)(2)(a)(c) and 27 of the Cybercrimes Act, 2015.

It’s worth noting that Blessing Nwakaego Okoye and another individual, Chimabia (who is currently at large), were jointly charged for this offense.
