Popular Nollywood comic actor Sisi Quadri is dead

Renowned Nollywood actor Tolani Quadri Oyebamiji, popularly known as Sisis Quadri, has sadly passed away, leaving a void in the entertainment industry.

This disheartening news was officially shared by the well-known Instagram blog, Nollywood Citadel, on March 1, 2024.

Sisis Quadri gained prominence for his role in the impactful movie “Seniyan Seranko,” released on December 4, 2004. He was a celebrated veteran comic actor, making significant contributions to both online skit-making and the Yoruba movie industry. His breakthrough came with the portrayal of an “Insultive” character in the Yoruba epic movie, “Seniyan Seranko.”

After a hiatus, he made a remarkable comeback in the hit comic movie “Ebudola” in 2020, co-starring with his close friend Funmi Awelewa. This film catapulted him back into the limelight, captivating audiences with his outspoken personality and unique ability to deliver humorous insults in his roles.

His popularity surged further with the success of “Ebudola,” leading to the creation of its sequels, part 2 and part 3, which garnered millions of views and solidified Sisis Quadri’s status as a beloved figure in the hearts of movie enthusiasts.

Sisis Quadri’s versatility extended beyond movies, as he collaborated with notable content creators such as Mr Macaroni, Woli Agba, Broda Shaggi, Pastor Remote, among others. Additionally, he featured in the Netflix series “Anikulapu: The Rise of the Spectre.”

The passing of Sisis Quadri has been confirmed by industry peers including Saidi Balogun, Jigan Babaoja, Mr Latin, Biola Bayo, Jamiu Azeez, and others, marking the end of an era in the Nigerian entertainment scene.
