The renowned Nollywood actor, John Okafor, widely known as Mr. Ibu, has passed away. The news, shared by Instagram blogger Tosin Silverdam, indicates that Mr. Ibu died early today at the age of 62.
The unfortunate event occurred at the Evercare Hospital in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos State.
Prior to his demise, Mr. Ibu had undergone seven surgeries, resulting in the amputation of his leg. Additionally, there were reports of another surgery on the same leg, leading to a significant reduction in his ability to speak.
It’s worth noting that Mr. Ibu’s death follows closely after the recent passing of the popular Yoruba actor, Sisi Quadri, who died at the age of 44.
Giving the update after confirming the death of Mr Ibu, Tosin Silverdam wrote; “Popular and legendary nollywood icon Mr Ibu passes on 💔💔💔”
