Nigerian singer Patoranking sister, Chioma Onuabuchi, and her husband, George Onuabuchi, were buried in their hometown of Uburu, Ebonyi State, amidst tears and grief. The couple tragically lost their lives in a gas explosion at their Abakaliki home in August 2024, just months after their housewarming ceremony.
The explosion occurred on the day of their son’s birthday, and a neighbor described the scene as “smoke billowing from the new building” with “all electronics destroyed” and “severe damage” to the ceiling, doors, windows, and glass.
Chioma passed away on August 31st, while George succumbed to his injuries on September 11th. The couple left behind a three-year-old son, who was fortunately with his grandmother at the time of the incident.
Patoranking took to his Instagram story to share an emotional post after the funeral ceremony, writing “Only heaven knows” alongside a white bird emoji.
