The Nigerian government has announced plans to distribute ₦75,000 in cash to 70 million of the country’s poorest citizens. This initiative, as stated by Hon. Aliyu Audu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, reflects President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to tackling rising poverty.
According to Audu, the government’s bold policies have yielded tangible results, including a significant influx of foreign investments and a surge in foreign reserves amounting to $7.69 billion.
However, some Nigerians have expressed skepticism about the initiative, with some questioning the government’s priorities and others joking about the potential benefits.
