Popular Nigerian singer Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, professionally known as D’banj, recently warmed the hearts of Nigerians with a touching video featuring music producer Don Jazzy.
On his verified Instagram page, D’banj shared a video of his visit to Don Jazzy’s mansion. During the visit, D’banj presented Don Jazzy with an invitation to his upcoming 20th-anniversary dinner.
D’banj and Don Jazzy share a storied history. In 2004, they co-founded Mo’ Hits Records, with Don Jazzy producing D’banj’s albums “No Long Thing” and “Rundown/Funk You Up” over the next two years. However, in March 2012, Don Jazzy announced via Twitter that D’banj had left the group due to differing interests, which led to Don Jazzy founding a new record label, Mavin Records.
In his Instagram post, D’banj emphasized that his 20-year journey in the Nigerian music industry would be incomplete without Don Jazzy, reflecting on the countless memories and milestones they have shared together. The heartfelt gesture and the reunion of the two iconic figures delighted fans, who were reminded of the significant contributions both have made to the music industry.
In the post D’banj wrote; “My 20 year journey cannot be complete without It’s @donjazzy again! Giving him the invite to my anniversary dinner was a moment filled with nostalgia . As we both celebrate 20 years in the industry, I’m reminded of the countless memories and milestones we’ve shared together. Here’s to two decades of brotherhood, entertainment, and unwavering support. Love you always, Brother! OooSHeeeee 💥.”
Responding via the comment section, Don Jazzy wrote; “Still finding it hard to believe it’s been 20years bro. Feels like yesterday. Thank you for everything. Love you brotherLee . More blessings 🤍🐘.”
