A Nigerian man has taken to social media to lament after falling victim to an online scam, losing ₦100,000 to a fraudster posing as a Jumia agent. The man had attempted to purchase a mobile phone online and engaged in a conversation with someone claiming to be a Jumia agent.
The scammer requested an initial deposit of ₦50,000 to process the order, and later asked for an additional ₦50,000 for undisclosed reasons. After making both payments, the man realized he had been scammed when no order was processed.
He shared his ordeal on social media, seeking help and warning others to be cautious of similar scams.
