A young Nigerian lady is seeking justice after suffering severe facial burns from a chemical peeling procedure meant to treat her acne. The treatment was administered by a skincare vendor, who allegedly used an 80% concentration of the chemical, despite the lady visible discomfort.
The victim recounted her ordeal, stating that she initially sought skincare advice from a friend, who introduced her to the vendor. After the first session, which used a 30% concentration, showed no results, the vendor advised her to return for another round. However, the second treatment left her with severe burns on her face.
“I was screaming and shouting, telling her how much it was burning, but she said it was normal,” the victim recalled. When she sent the vendor a video of her condition, the vendor ignored her for two days before downplaying the situation and suggesting that makeup could be used to cover the damage.
In her words, “The girl is actually my friend. I had only a little breakout on my face, and she said I should come for chemical peeling. I went there, and after the first session, she said she used 30%, but I still had breakouts.
“She then asked me to come for another session, during which she performed microneedling and another chemical peel. The moment she applied the product on my face, it began to burn intensely. I was screaming and shouting, telling her how much it was burning, but she said it was normal. After I sent her a video of my condition, she read my message and ignored it for two days.”
Controversial critic Verydarkman has taken up the case, vowing to escalate the matter to the appropriate authorities to ensure that others do not fall victim to the unqualified skin therapist.
