Whitemoney, the winner of BBNaija season 6 and a singer, shared that he has shifted his focus away from the prestigious American Academy Awards, commonly known as the Grammys.
In a recent interview with content creator Egungun, Whitemoney expressed that he is now aiming for recognition at the local Headies Awards instead.
Previously, Whitemoney had openly expressed his aspiration to win a Grammy award, inspired by the successes of Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Tems.
However, during the interview, he voiced his disillusionment with the Grammy’s current state, believing it has lost its integrity and significance.
Whitemoney emphasized that what matters most to him now is any award that contributes to his relevance in the industry.
In his words, “The way things are going now, Grammy don cast. Make we manage Headies. I’m not sure if I’m still pursuing my desire of winning Grammys. Now I’m pursuing any award that keeps my relevant. Because after what Grammy organisers did to our superstars, Davido and Burna Boy at the last award ceremony, it’s now looking like they are using Nigeria for publicity stunt.”
“But never say never. My style of music is unique. If it takes me to the Grammys, no wahala”.
