Fast-rising singer Muiz, better known as Barber Chair, has shared his side of the story after parting ways with his boss, Hypeman God Over Everything (GOE).
The split was publicly announced by GOE, who revealed that the teenage hypeman was becoming arrogant and wanted to stand on his own. Consequently, GOE retrieved the name he had given Muiz, ‘God over Junior’.
This revelation sparked widespread reactions, with many social media users predicting that Barber Chair would face significant challenges without GOE’s guidance. Nollywood actress Funke Akindele also advised Muiz to reconsider his decision and stay with GOE to avoid potential pitfalls, drawing comparisons to the struggles of young Nigerian superstar Lyta.
In response to the online uproar, Barber Chair asked Nigerians to be gentle with him, stating that he had valid reasons for leaving GOE. He emphasized that his situation is different from Lyta’s, explaining that he was already a hypeman before meeting GOE and acknowledged that his recognition was largely due to GOE’s influence.
In his words, “I was already an Hypeman before I Met God Over Everything, Please Nigerians take it easy on me I am not a bad person, please you all should try and understand that this my own case is not the same with the case of Lyta or Segun Wire, i have a very Good Reason why I left Hypeman GOE”.
