Renowned Nigerian actor and filmmaker, Femi Brainard, candidly shared the challenges he encountered after relocating abroad in pursuit of a better life.
Despite his success in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, Brainard found himself starting anew by driving for Uber.
During a podcast interview with media personality Teju Oyelakin, also known as Teju Babyface, Brainard opened up about his life story. He acknowledged the hardships of moving overseas but revealed that he made this decision years ago to reunite with his wife.
The Nollywood actor disclosed that when driving for Uber, Nigerian passengers often recognize him and express shock, questioning if he is the same person they remember from his days in movies. He mentioned that some curious passengers even approach him to verify his identity.
Brainard emphasized that, despite the challenges, he believes staying in Nigeria, even as a prince, is preferable to leaving and starting afresh elsewhere. He highlighted the difficulties of life abroad, stressing that his wife dislikes having to take up menial jobs to support herself in their new environment.
