Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido, boldly expressed his belief that he would have secured 20 Grammy Awards by now.
The “Unavailable” crooner, boasting a musical career spanning over 13 years, made this revelation during an interview with Eye on Africa in Paris.
On January 31, 2024, Davido is set to headline a sold-out concert at the Accor Arena in Paris, boasting a capacity of 20,000. This follows his successful shutdown of the O2 Arena in London on Sunday, January 28, 2024.
As anticipation builds for the 66th Grammy Awards scheduled to take place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 4th, Davido confidently asserted that he deserves to win the prestigious award. Notably, the artist has received three Grammy nominations for the upcoming 2024 Grammy Awards. These nominations include Best Global Album for his latest release, “Timeless,” as well as recognition in the categories of Best African Performance for his track “Unavailable” and Best Global Music Performance for his song “Feel.”
Davido gives a shoutout to the Grammy Awards for recognizing him this time stating that he and his team worked hard for the Timeless album.
He said; “”We worked really hard on this album. If you ask me if I deserve Grammys in the past, I need 20 Grammy already…God’s timing is the best.”
