Wunmi Aloba, wife of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has made a surprising reversal on her previous stance regarding a DNA test for her son, Liam. After initially refusing, Wunmi has now agreed to undergo the test to prove Liam’s paternity.
This development comes after months of controversy sparked by Wunmi’s Instagram live session, where she claimed Mohbad was her only partner and refused to consider a DNA test. Her lawyer, Barrister Akingbolu, attributed her initial hesitation to intense pressure from Mohbad’s father, Mr. Joseph Aloba, and online critics.
Barrister Akingbolu alleged that Mr. Aloba waged a smear campaign against Wunmi and Liam, using the media to orchestrate a relentless wave of criticism. Despite this, Wunmi has chosen to proceed with the DNA test voluntarily, without a court mandate.
The test aims to confirm Liam’s biological connection to Mohbad, addressing doubts raised by Mr. Aloba and others. By taking this step, Wunmi seeks to protect her son’s dignity and preserve her late husband’s legacy.
In a powerful statement, Barrister Akingbolu emphasized Wunmi’s determination to stand up for her son’s rights and defend his identity as Mohbad’s child.
