Grammy-Award winner Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, professionally known as Burna Boy, has sparked a conversation about his actual religion following his recent performance in France.
In a video circulating online, Burna Boy, known for hits like “Last Last,” was seen delivering a captivating performance to a large audience. This comes after he made headlines with his impressive contribution to the global Amapiano hit song, “Tshwala Bam Remix” by TitoM & Yuppe ft. S.N.E & EeQue.
During the performance, Burna Boy incorporated core Quran verses into his act, teaching his fans new dance steps to a freestyle song. This has led to discussions among fans and observers, as it is common for Nigerian artists like Olamide, Seyi Vibez, and Asake to use Islamic phrases such as “Alhamdulillah” in their music.
The inclusion of Quranic verses by Burna Boy, who has not previously been publicly associated with a specific religion, has raised questions and intrigued many about his religious beliefs.
The clip captured Burna Boy saying arabic words effortlessly just like the way he dishes out classic lyrics in his songs, he said “Wakanallahu kowiyan Azeezah, wakanallahu kowiyan Azeezah.”
