Nigerian Fuji music legend Saheed Osupa recently paid a heartfelt visit to popular broadcaster and activist Oriyomi Hamzat, following his release from prison. Hamzat, founder of Agidigbo FM, had been detained in connection with a tragic stampede at a children’s Christmas event in Ibadan, which resulted in the loss of 35 young lives.
The incident led to widespread debate, with some arguing that Hamzat and others charged, including former Queen Naomi Silekunola, should not be held responsible. Proponents of this view believed the parents of the victims should bear the blame instead ¹.
In January 2025, Hamzat was granted bail, and his release was met with celebration from supporters, who welcomed back a prominent voice for justice and truth.
During his visit, Saheed Osupa offered emotional prayers for Hamzat’s continued strength and protection. The Fuji star emphasized that those who fight for human rights often face opposition from wicked individuals. In his words, “Wicked people don’t like someone that fights for people’s rights… May God bless your good heart. May you not encounter any problem again in life.”
