Nigerian singer Olamide has reportedly allowed Asake to terminate his contract with YBNL Music and part ways with the label. Asake has been given the masters to all his songs recorded under YBNL, but the label will maintain a royalty split on the songs for at least 10 years.
Olamide stated that he created YBNL to help young artists grow, and if any artist wants to leave, they are free to do so. Asake has since removed all references to YBNL from his social media handles and unfollowed everyone, including Olamide.
According to reports, Asake’s contract with YBNL expired after the release of his Lungu album, and Olamide presented a new contract, which Asake declined. Asake eventually walked out of the negotiations, choosing to become an independent artist.
Asake joined YBNL in 2022 and achieved significant success with his hit song ‘Sungba’, selling out the O2 Arena twice. Fans have praised Olamide for his generosity in allowing Asake to leave the label without a fight.

birthdaydating: Label boss are really trying because most times these artists quit the label just when they’re making money for the company forgetting the years of investment in them before they blow. It takes a generous and intentional label boss to let an artist go without a fight.
