Veteran rapper Eldee The Don recently appeared on the Adesope Live show, where he shared a fascinating revelation about his father’s pivotal role in introducing internet services to Nigeria. According to Eldee, his father was a pioneer in the country’s technology sector and played a key role in establishing Nigeria’s first internet connection.
Eldee revealed that his father established the first cyber cafe in Lagos, offering internet services to various clients, including oil companies and government agencies. He attributed his early exposure to technology to his father’s pioneering efforts, which he believes played a significant role in his success in the music industry.
Despite his father’s impactful contributions, Eldee noted that they might not be widely acknowledged. He said, “Thankfully, I had a dad who was in technology. My dad was a pioneer in his own space as well. That man [my Dad] was the first person to connect Nigeria to the internet.”
