A Nigerian father has voiced his frustration over the exorbitant increase in the price of baby food, prompting him to consider feeding his 5-month-old son a traditional Nigerian dish made from cassava, ‘Eba.’

In a video circulating online, the man expressed his distress, highlighting the skyrocketing prices of popular baby food brands such as Cerelac and SME Gold, which have reached N12,000 and N25,000, respectively.

Displaying the 14 tins of Cerelac and 7 tins of SME Gold his son has already consumed, the father jokingly mentioned resorting to feeding his child morsels of Eba, emphasizing the affordability challenges he faces in providing adequate nourishment for his baby.

In his words partly, “As from tomorrow, you go start to eat eba”.
