Femi Falana, a human rights lawyer and activist, has denied allegations of accepting ₦10 million from Bobrisky in exchange for a presidential pardon. He also vowed to pursue civil action against VeryDarkMan, who shared a leaked audio recording of Bobrisky making the accusations on Instagram.
In an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Falana stated that he has never met or spoken to Bobrisky, and that his son, Falz, refused to assist Bobrisky’s request for ₦3 million to gain VIP privileges in prison. Falana expressed surprise that the House of Representatives is investigating claims of Bobrisky’s VIP treatment in prison, citing the Correctional Service Act of 2019, which addresses misconduct by prison officers.
Falana denied negotiating a ₦10 million deal with Bobrisky for a presidential pardon, emphasizing that he has secured pardons for many convicts without requesting payment. He chose not to file a criminal complaint against VeryDarkMan, advocating for freedom of expression, but will pursue civil action to protect his and his son’s reputations.
