Prominent fashion designer, Veekee James, has expressed dissatisfaction with Nigerians following the country’s loss in the AFCON 2023 finals against Ivory Coast.
Despite the grandeur and attention surrounding the designer’s wedding, a number of Nigerians, including celebrities, voiced their discontent.
After the Super Eagles’ loss to Ivory Coast in the AFCON finals, which dashed the high hopes of many Nigerians for bringing home the cup, Veekee James made a now-deleted post.
In her statement, she highlighted that Nigerians would now be distracted by the football loss, saving her from further criticism and complaints about the extravagance of her wedding event.
In her words, “At least una go leave me now carry una anger face Super Eagles.”
The statement, however, struck the nerves of many, leading to a second wave of attacks from social media users.
