Amidst NNPCL's change of the pump price to N885 per liter, billionaire Dangote gives a sample of his colorless petrol from his refinery

Popular Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote‘s newly introduced colorless petrol, known as Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), has become a trending topic online as his refinery officially begins operations.

Dangote has announced the start of petrol production at the Dangote Refinery, with the facility producing its first batch from its 650,000 barrels-per-day capacity.

During a press briefing, Dangote presented the first sample of the petrol, assuring Nigerians of the highest quality fuel supply. He emphasized that this new PMS would enhance vehicle performance, stating, “You are now going to have good petrol, and the engines of your vehicles will last longer.”

Expressing his gratitude, Dangote, who hails from Kano State, thanked President Tinubu for allowing the sale of crude oil in Naira.

He also explained why the petrol from his refinery appears clearer than what is currently available in the market. Speaking from his refinery in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, Dangote highlighted that the clearer petrol is more environmentally friendly and could reduce health issues associated with polluted petroleum products.

Dangote further noted that this new petrol would protect engines from the damage often caused by lower-quality fuels commonly found in the market. He was accompanied by his daughter, Fatimah Dangote, who serves as the vice-president of the refinery.

The introduction of this colorless petrol has sparked a variety of reactions online, with many commenting that it looks like water or tequila, and questioning whether it will perform better than existing options.

maowhytte: This presenter English is too much Damm . Ask how much he go sale.

djlegend__: why the pms Is pure like water. Petrol has different colors, When it’s Red that means Octane was added. When it’s slightly Green then Octane is slightly very much. When is Yellow it means it has no lead in it. That means it’s unleaded. But when it’s clear as water as seen in the video then you should know that ethanol was used . What ethanol does is that it improves engine efficiency and power. Because ethanol has a good amount of oxygen it lessens the amount of carbonation in engines there by reducing air pollution which comes as Carbon dioxide. So this is the best form of Petrol. Congratulations Dangote @aliko_dangotegcon @dangotegroup

mykel_smiith: It’s not by sugarcoating words…We just hope you are not another Tinubu in disguise😏.

king_jozef: As a reporter , one of your most valuable skill is how to speak to people in a tone , manner and diction they can easily understand and respond to. Calm down madam , you don’t need to use the opportunity of interviewing Africa’s richest man as a press pass for your own personal benefit. Yes we know u have a good command of the English but apply the ethics of journalism Ma .. no be Elon musk u Dey interview.

krawnfit_: Make them wipe that reporter oraima cord make she speak pidgin Way de warri you 😂.
