Funke Akindele has emerged as the highest-grossing actress of 2023 in Nollywood, thanks to her movie “A Tribe Called Judah,” which made history by grossing over N1 billion in just 21 days at the Nigerian box office.
Despite this remarkable achievement, “A Tribe Called Judah” did not secure any wins at the 10th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, where it had five nominations.
According to Comscore’s report, Funke Akindele topped the earnings list with N794 million, followed closely by Shaffy Bello with N216 million.
Other notable actresses featured on the list include Toyin Abraham with N144 million, Omowunmi Dada with N129 million, and Mercy Aigbe with N126 million.
The top 10 list also includes Bimbo Ademoye, Ireti Doyle, Nancy Isime, Sandra Okunzuwa, and Sophie Alakija, with earnings ranging from N57 million to N122 million. This highlights the diverse talent and success within Nollywood’s female acting community.
