Award-winning Nigerian singer Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, professionally known as Wizkid, has issued a stern warning to music enthusiasts via his verified Instagram page’s insta-stories section on the night of March 15th, 2024.
In his statement, the “Essence” crooner emphatically declares that individuals who favor the Afrobeats music genre should refrain from attempting to download his upcoming album.
Following in the footsteps of Burna Boy, Wizkid has made the decision to distance himself from Afrobeats, aligning himself more closely with Davido, Portable, and other Nigerian singers.
Wizkid, a recipient of the prestigious Grammy Award, asserts that he does not identify as an Afrobeats artist and strongly advises against labeling him as such.
In his words; “I am not a fvcking Afrobeats artiste! don’t call me that hoe!, I’m not Afro anything bitch.”
Speaking further Big Wizkid said that he is now a new Wizkid stressing that anybody who likes his music such as that of “Pakurumo” should not bother downloading the coming album.
Wizkid stated that the forthcoming album is done and will soon be released. Wizkid also brags about his son Zion being richer than some of his colleagues and social media users.
In his words; “Album done, see you soon bitches. Zion richer than you niggas lol!.”
He continues; “And pls Abeg if you like Pakurumo Wizkid don’t download this new album..in fact delete me from ur playlist and your life.”
“And if you like Afrobeats, pls don’t download my album.”
