Jay-Z calls out Grammys on stage for never giving wife, Beyonce ‘Album of the year’ [Video]

Jay-Z, the American rapper, used his acceptance speech to criticize the Grammys for not giving his wife, Beyonce, the Album of the Year award.

The 54-year-old went on stage with his daughter Blue Ivy to receive the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award, an honor for his musical accomplishments.

Jay-Z thanked for the award but in his speech, he encouraged the Recording Academy to make better choices.

Referring to his wife’s historic achievement at the previous year’s ceremony, where she won a record-breaking 32 trophies, he mentioned:

“I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won album of the year.

“Think about that. Most Grammys never won Album of the Year, that doesn’t work.

“Some of you will go home tonight and feel like you’ve been robbed, some of you may get robbed, some of you don’t belong in the category.

“When I get nervous, I tell the truth,” Jay-Z said.
