The president of New World Faith Ministries, Pastor John Anosike, has stirred controversy with a recent statement during a sermon to his church members.
In a video circulating online, Senior Pastor John Anoskie urges his congregation to pay their first fruits of the year, equated to their salaries, into his personal account.
In a bold assertion, he clarifies that the money is meant for him personally and not for the church. He emphasizes that if the members consider him their spiritual father, the January salary should be dedicated to him for his welfare and the upkeep of the altar.
Pastor Anosike contends that those who obey his directive and honor him with their salaries will witness significant positive changes in their lives by the middle of the year. He goes on to state that if there are no noticeable improvements, the members can come back, and he will return their money.
In what could be perceived as a warning, the pastor concludes by asserting that if the church members recognize him as their father, pastor, and mentor, they should ensure they send money to the account he has provided. The statement has sparked discussions online, with varying opinions on the appropriateness of such a request.
