Popular Nigerian rapper and singer Crown Uzama known professionally as Shallipopi in a recent statement disclosed that he rejected offers of N340M ($300k) and 230M ($200k) for his songs Elon Musk and Shapiru.
Shallipopi disclosed this while featuring as a guest on the podcast tagged “Zero Condition” when one of the interviewers asked why he was rejecting deals.
Responding, Shallipopi said that as a fast-rising artiste just like his colleagues he is supposed to be accepting but he refused to do so because he believes everything is not about money.
Shallipopi while speaking said that he rejected those deals worth multimillions of naira because he didn’t want to be trapped.
He added that he rejected some of these deals because he didn’t want to be tied to anyone where he will will have to seek his permission before he dropped songs.
Shallipopi however said that it is better for upcoming artistes to build himself/herself first then watch all these deals before accepting them.
