Afrobeats superstar Davido has taken to social media to express his outrage and disappointment at popular Nigerian blog Instablog9ja for linking him to a kidnapping incident.
The controversy began when a video surfaced online showing three kidnappers, including one nicknamed “Davido,” being apprehended by residents of Victory Estate in Ago Palace, Lagos State. Instablog9ja reported on the incident, but incorrectly attached Davido’s name to the story, stating “Davido and two others apprehended for kidnapping in Lagos.”
Davido, who is the most followed Nigerian artist on social media, was quick to respond to the misleading post, sending a stern warning to Instablog9ja. He wrote, “One day go be one day, continue, my karma no dey always tey” (meaning “One day, karma will catch up with you).
The singer’s fans and supporters have rallied around him, condemning Instablog9ja’s actions and calling for accountability. Many have expressed concern about the damage such false reporting can cause to a person’s reputation and brand.
Reactions to the incident have been strong, with many criticizing Instablog9ja’s sensationalist reporting and calling for greater responsibility in the media.

It affects celebrities branding and endorsements in so many ways! U guys affect people’s hard earned reputation just for few seconds of click baits. I pray we learn and desist 😢😢🙏🙏 sigh 😢.
