Renowned Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele is celebrating the massive success of her latest movie, ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’. The film, which premiered in cinemas on December 13, 2024, has broken box office records, earning a whopping N206 million on its opening weekend.
According to Nigerian Box Office (NBO), the movie raked in an impressive N45 million on its opening day, setting a new record for the highest-grossing single day in Nollywood history.
The movie’s success has left Funke Akindele overjoyed, and she took to her Instagram page to express her gratitude to God and Nigerians. She wrote, “Thank you Lord!!! Thank you Nigeria!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!”
‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ is a comedy film that tells the story of Jenifa, whose reputation is challenged by a dubious new neighbor. The movie features an all-star cast, including Funke Akindele, Patience Ozokwor, Nancy Isime, Stan Nze, Omowunmi Dada, Jackie Appiah, and Falz.
