Seun Kuti, a renowned Afrobeat musician, is calling on African governments to ban Kemi Badenoch, the leader of the UK Conservative Party, from visiting Africa. This comes after Badenoch’s comments about Nigeria, which many, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, have deemed derogatory.
Badenoch has described her childhood in Nigeria as being marked by fear and insecurity due to corruption. However, Seun Kuti takes issue with her statements, particularly her suggestion that Africans should pay Europeans for colonialism. Kuti views this as an insult to Africans and their ancestors.
In a recent Instagram live session, Kuti expressed his outrage, stating that Badenoch should be banned from entering Africa and jailed if she does. He believes that her comments are a slap in the face to Africans and their heritage.
