The video of an Uber driver being brutalized by security officers at EndSARS memorial in Lekki Tollgate made rounds on social media yesterday.
KemifilaniNews recalls a man who claimed to be an Uber driver was brutally beaten and sprayed pepper spray at a close range by LNSC (Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps) officials and police officers. About five officers ganged up against him amidst pleas.
In a video shared, the Uber driver whose name is Adedotun Clement narrated how he ended up in the hands of the security officers while he left his car to save himself from being shot at, on the 20th of October, 2021.
According to Clement, police officers were firing shots while he was at the Tollgate and he was left with no choice but to run out of his car and join others who ran to avoid being shot at.
Coming back to the scene while the gunshots had died down, he realised they had seized his car as he pleaded with the officers, who continued to oppress him and brutally dragged him to their van.
The brutalized driver has taken to social media to cry for help concerning his confiscated car as that is his only means of livelihood.
