“E sure me say na Kamala you vote”- Singer Davido celebrates Donald Trump as he becomes the 47th president of USA

Davido, the popular Afrobeats singer, took to social media to celebrate Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 US presidential election, congratulating him on becoming the 47th President of the United States. Trump secured 292 electoral votes, surpassing the 270 needed to win, while Kamala Harris garnered 224 votes. Davido, who was born in Atlanta, Georgia, but raised in Lagos, had participated in the US election by casting his vote.

However, his celebration of Trump’s win was met with mixed reactions, with some criticizing him for not voting in Nigeria’s 2023 general election. Davido’s tweet read, “Congratulations 47th POTUS @realDonaldTrump but you !! @KamalaHarris SHOULD BE PROUD!! YOU DID THAT ! A SOLID WOMAN .” Some fans questioned whether Davido truly voted for Kamala Harris, despite congratulating Trump.
