Nollywood actress Ufuoma McDermott has courageously shared her heart-wrenching journey with kidney disease, revealing the devastating impact it has had on her life.

In an emotional interview with Chude Jideonwo, Ufuoma poignantly disclosed how she lost her younger brother to chronic kidney disease, only to be diagnosed with the same ailment years later.

After secretly battling the disease for 12 years, Ufuoma’s condition progressed to stage 3 in 2023. Despite her doctor’s warnings to slow down, she continued working, neglecting her health.

The consequences were dire. Ufuoma was soon diagnosed with stage 4 kidney disease, the final stage. Overwhelmed with fear and desperation, Ufuoma confessed, “I don’t wanna die, I have little children.” Her world crumbled as she faced the harsh reality.

For six agonizing months, Ufuoma was bedridden, unable to work or care for her family. The once-vibrant actress had hit rock bottom. However, Ufuoma’s resilience and determination sparked a fierce battle for her life. She confronted her mortality and reevaluated her priorities.
