Nigerian rapper Reminisce has made a startling revelation about his children’s future careers. In a candid interview on Pulse On The Record with Vector the Viper, Reminisce emphasized his reluctance to let his kids follow in his footsteps.
“I don’t want my children to do music,” he stated firmly. “It’s not about being an African parent; it’s about my experience. The music industry is unpredictable. You can be talented and end up with nothing. It’s like football – only a few make it.”
Reminisce stressed the importance of education, urging his children to prioritize it over music. “Get a basic education first, then pursue music if you want. I’ll support you, but music as a first choice? No. It’s rough and difficult; less than 5% make it.”
He likened the industry to a lottery, emphasizing the need for a “backup plan.” “For every Ronaldo, there are 9,000 who didn’t make it. Get the basics done first, have something to fall back on.”
