Singer Oxlade offers N500k to viral woman with empty pot during protest against hunger

Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman, known professionally as Oxlade, has initiated a search for a woman who went viral for her unique protest.

The elderly woman gained online attention after she was seen on the streets with an empty pot, protesting against hunger, corruption, and bad governance. She was among the protesters during a rally tagged #EndBadGovernance, which commenced across the nation on August 1st.

Her photo quickly spread online, eliciting sympathetic reactions from netizens. While activist Reno Omokri criticized the woman’s protest, Oxlade took to his X (formerly known as Twitter) page to share a photo of her and announce that he has N500K to offer as support.

The singer’s gesture has been widely praised, with many hoping the woman is found soon to receive the assistance she needs.

Sharing the photo, the ‘Ku Lo Sa’ singer wrote, “Someone please help me find this woman , I’ve got 500k for her 🙏🏾”.
